EQAT action on climate, poverty, unemployment and racism all in one!!

Cambridge Cohousing, 175 Richdale Ave, Cambridge MA

Come hear about an opportunity to lend support to an exciting battle going on in Philadelphia, led by the Earth Quaker Action Team (EQAT). Their founder George Lakey will speak regarding their work to force the main utility company in Philadelphia, PECO, to buy its electricity from solar panels in low employment, mostly minority neighborhoods. This will provide green jobs for unemployed people, lower utility bills, and reduce climate change. When PECO accepts this challenge, it will provide an impressive prototype for utilities throughout the country! For more, see EQAT’s website

Following Q and A we will lighten up our evening by singing favorite Broadway tunes, with George playing the piano!
The words will be provided.

This event is co-hosted by Cambridge Earth Care Witness at Friends Meeting at Cambridge and by Fresh Pond Monthly Meeting. For more information please call Sue Turner, 781-894-3488.

On Thursday evening August 11, 7:00-9:00 pm, George will speak about his new book, “Viking Economics,” at the Jamaica Plain Forum
