in the November/December 2017 Exhibits Committee Art Show in the Friends Room

Opening reception Sunday, December 3, at 12:15 pm

Paintings by Michal Baksh will be on display in the Friends Room during November and December. Michal is a volunteer and participant in the Material Aid and Advocacy Program (MAAP) community. Exhibits Committee and MAAP are pleased that her vibrant paintings are going to be on display during the MAAP Tag Sale on November 17 and 18.

Michal Baksh is a non-traditional student currently earning a degree in Painting at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She also teaches a watercolor class at the Women’s Lunch Place in Boston, a sanctuary for women experiencing homelessness and poverty. While painting, Michal focuses on a sense of space through the use of color. This technique helps her relay movement in her pieces.
When asked why she wants to make art, Michal says, “I’ve seen so many brilliantly beautiful things in life and can’t help but want to mimic it on canvas in hopes of giving the viewer…a feeling of wonder.”
